How to use our opening hours

Hotvet legesenter offers regular consultations Monday to Friday, with phone hours in both the morning and afternoon. We recommend using Helsenorge to book appointments, renew prescriptions and message your general practitioner — it is available around the clock and lets you avoid phone queues. Same-day appointments are allocated by the medical secretary and reserved for conditions that cannot wait for the next available slot.

Your rights as a GP patient

As a patient in the Norwegian GP scheme (fastlegeordningen) you are entitled to be assessed by your own general practitioner — or a locum — for urgent conditions during opening hours. We do our best to offer a same-day appointment whenever the situation requires it. If you are not on our patient list but need rapid help, please still call — we will help direct you to the right point of care via Helfo, the out-of-hours service or other GPs in Drammen.

Urgent care during opening hours

For urgent care during our opening hours, call +47 31 02 13 00. The phone is answered by an experienced medical secretary who makes a quick triage and books you in the same day when the condition requires it. Outside opening hours, Drammen out-of-hours GP service handles all immediate care — call 116 117. For chest pain, breathing difficulties, major bleeding, paralysis or other life-threatening symptoms, always call 113 directly.

Holidays and reduced staffing

The clinic is closed on Norwegian public holidays. During summer and the Christmas period we keep our regular opening hours, but may operate with reduced staffing – typically one or two doctors on duty. Specific dates are published on the homepage and sent as Helsenorge messages. We recommend that patients with recurring prescriptions renew them well before holiday periods.
